Demo: starting to develop the mobile portion of the application

Applies to: Evolution 3.
After running the final application that we will use as a model, EventDay, on iPad and Android, and after starting to develop its web portion in GeneXus, we will create the first screens of the mobile application (start menu and screens with lists of speakers and their countries, as well as their detailed information). Lastly, we will run it on the Android emulator.

To reproduce in GeneXus what you saw on the video, make sure you have the Android SDK installed. With that, you will already be able to prototype with the emulator included there. However, we recommend you to use a faster one, which you may download from genymotion.com (you will have to install the Android SDK anyway). To do so, once installed and having created a virtual device in genymotion, you must open it prior to doing the Run, and you must not close it again. If you fail to do this, the Run will open the Android SDK, as it happens in the video.

The video titled Prototyping and running mobile applications, near the end of the course, will show all the prototyping options available. Among others, they include prototyping directly on the device, which is the recommended option. Android emulators will be used up to then for consistency reasons. However, you can watch this video and try some of the alternatives offered for the rest of the course.
