  • Which course should I take to train to use GeneXus?

    The GeneXus Advanced Course fully qualifies you to use GeneXus. It is offered in two different modes:
    • Classroom course
    • Distance course
    Its objective is to train developers to achieve the required change of approach and provide the necessary knowledge for designing, developing, and prototyping applications in GeneXus.

    This course is aimed at those involved in application development using GeneXus.
     
  • Which course should I take to quickly learn from scratch?

    The first GeneXus course for people who have never used this tool is the GeneXus Core Course.

    The objective of this course is to train participants in the basic use of GeneXus through its fundamental concepts, and teach the essentials necessary for someone new to the tool to start working with it as soon as possible. Pre-requisites: knowledge of databases and programming.
  • Which course should I take to become up to date with a new GeneXus version?

    The GeneXus Update course.
  • Who teaches GeneXus courses in my country?

    On our website, right here you can filter by your Country and see the Training Centers in that location.
  • Do you offer distance-learning GeneXus courses?

    Every course taught by GeneXus is offered online, which allows any person, from Uruguay or elsewhere, to learn to use this tool.
  • What’s the date of the next course? (Course calendar)

  • How can I enroll in a course?

    To enroll, send an email to training@genexus.com with all the information about the course and the person(s) who want(s) to enroll.
  • When is the deadline to enroll in a course?

    Spaces are limited and, although we don’t have a registration deadline, we recommend that you reserve your place as soon as you choose a date to take the course because we cannot guarantee that there will be availability near the start date.
  • What are the prices for the courses?

    For more information, send an email to training@genexus.com and you will receive information shortly.
  • Are there any discounts for the courses?

    If many people from the same company enroll in the same course the following discounts apply:
    between 3 and 5 people 10% discount
    between 6 and 10 people 15% discount
    more than 10 people 20% discount
    There’s also a student discount of 20%.  
  • What are the available payment methods for courses and exams?

    Cash
    Bank deposit
    Up to 6 payments with credit or debit card.
  • Are there any evening courses?

    No, we do not offer any evening courses.
     

Certifications

  • Which Certifications can I take online?

    At present, all certification exams can be taken online. 
  • At what time are online exams taken?

    On the dates scheduled for the exams, which are shown in our calendar, you can choose any time. However, we recommend taking the exams during our office hours in Uruguay (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) so that we can solve any inconvenience as soon as possible.
  • Where can I read all the information about Certificates?

    On this page in the GeneXus training website, you can find the list of all Certifications with the information and steps to follow for each of them.

GeneXus course

  • Do I have any student discount?

    Yes, you have a 20% discount if you provide proof of your enrollment in school (this applies to courses taken in GeneXus Uruguay).
  • What does Live Courses mean?

    They are courses taught through an online platform, on stipulated dates and times but from the physical location that the person wishes to take the course.
  • If I fail the exam corresponding to my GeneXus Course, can I take it again? Do I have to pay or can I re-take it for free?

    If you fail the exam corresponding to your course, you can re-take it.
    If you re-take the exam within 3 months, you get a 50% discount on the price of that exam.
  • Do I need any courses or pre-requisites to enroll in the GeneXus Course?

    Ideally, you should have basic knowledge of programming. If you don't, here is the material for you to download and read before taking the course.

About GeneXus Trial

  • What are the hardware and software requirements for executing GeneXus 17?

    Hardware
    • Processor: 1 GHz minimum (multi core recommended)
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB recommended; 16GB recommended to generate Android applications)
    • Hard drive: At least 1.2 GB free disk space for installation. To generate the application (create the knowledge base and generate the code) you will need additional space or a shared drive.
    Software
    • Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 or higher, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher.
    • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1 (the requirements are available here).
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or higher (Express, Standard or any other edition).
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer. Minimum version: 6.0 SP1. Recommended version: 11 or higher.

  • Is it necessary to have SQL Server installed for executing GeneXus?

    Yes, it is. GeneXus needs SQL Server to create the database associated with the objects of the knowledge base (KB), which is independent from the application’s database. 
    It is possible to use SQL Server 2012, 2014, or higher (Express, Standard or any other edition).
  • Error upon installing SQL Server due to non-compatible language

    The PC language and the languare of the SQL Server are not compatible. If the PC language is Spanish (Uruguay), change it to Spanish (Spain) or English (U.S.), depending on the SQL version downloaded. 
  • Error upon installing GeneXus: dll missing

    Installing GeneXus requires the vc++ redistributable package 2015 x86
    If it’s not found, the installation fails. 
  • Error installing GeneXus: the following message is displayed:



    The error may occur because the username is too long or because it includes spaces.
    This can be seen in the folder C:\Windows\Users.
    Another possible cause for this error is that the installer wasn't run with Administrator permissions (right-click on the installation file and choose Run As Administrator).
